All Good Things Come to an End

This course has taught me so much about an area that I thought I already knew so much about.  Take for instance two important vital outcomes that I just recently learned and put to use.  First, bu observing Chris  Hill and her dedication to no only children and education but her ability to change with the times is something all teachers should strive to achieve.  She started teaching before so much of the technology she uses in her classroom everyday but now she easily incorporates and successfully uses the technology in her lessons.  The kids thoroughly enjoy coming to her class everyday.  They are excited to use smart boards and other forms oe technology as they are so much a part of their everyday life.  Speaking of every day life, learning and incorporating the use of a web quest was fantastic.  I enjoyed meeting this outcome by first learning what a webquest was and what it consisted of, before making my own and attempting to make it fun and exciting for the kids.  The web quest is especially cool because the kids can branch out and make their own decisions while learning something they would usually elarn from a textbook and.or power point notes.  This was an eye opening experience as much of this class has been.  I really enjoyed end this class fulfilling these two outcomes and having a good time while doing it.

Technology has changed the world in almost every aspect of life.  In regards to education, there is no more useful tool than technology in empowering students to succeed with their education.  Technology must be incorporated at all levels and abilities   Some people fear the use of technology but with av ever changing society we must strive to provide ways for kids to want to learn and to want to be in the classroom   Kids want things quicker and use diffrent technology for their own personal use then in the past.  Therefore it only makes sense for schools to be on board with an ever changing society and use technology kids actually use and are familiar with.  The idea that kids are over exposed does not come from the use of technology inside schools and classrooms but it is from use of technology without monitoring.  It is much more effective to use technology where it can be monitored.   Three useful tools that can be used with little or no assistance depending on the grade are voki, animoto, and webquests.  Voki allows students to create a representation of themselves or what they are studying in a cool and fun way.  Teachers are still able to make sure they learn what they need too and that they include it in there Voki.  Animoto allows kids to show their pictures or pictures of others in a fun way.  They can use music they like and also learn a lot and present it through a way they are already familiar with.  Webquests allow access to unlimited information on a topic.  It is the students way of exploring something in a way they might not have done so before.  Each of these is an effective use of technologv and further shows that students must be able to push forward and move on with ever changing technolgoy along with their teachers to strive to be the very best by using the best.
